The Animated Watership Down

~Behold the somewhat morbid (yet cool) video cover~

As movies based on novels go, I've never seen a better representation than this one, released in 1978.  Of course, it comes nowhere near the quality of the novel, but is nevertheless an exceptional motion picture.  This animated movie follows Adams' plot line about 85% of the time, I would say, which is pretty darn  good.  If every small detail that embellishes the novel was included, this movie would easily pass the 8 hour mark!  Character developement in the movie is absolutly wonderful, and the drawings used are exceptional.  For me, the characters looked and spoke wxactly how I had imagined they would when I read the book.  All of the pictures of characters used on this web site are taken directly from the movie.  Finally, the music used demands to be noted.  I am also very into instrumental music, having played in band since 6th grade, and the orchestral background music throughout the movie is absolutely beautiful, and only adds to the moods conveyed in the plot.  All in all--the animated Watership Down is well worth seeing!

Sound Files from the movie!

Yep, they're finally here.  Now you can here the background music and characters' voices for yourselves with these neat-o WAV files.  I made all the music (*) ones myself, and all the rest came from Laura McDan's Watership site.  Thanks, Laura.
